Thanks to its position overlooking the Trinitá dei Monti stairway, Piazza di Spagna View is one of the best Luxury Guest Houses in Rome. While the stairway is stunning any time of year, it is in springtime, when the azaleas and flowers come out, that this square becomes one of the most beautiful and romantic in the world.

The square got its name in the 18th century when it was dedicated to the nearby Spanish Embassy. At the bottom of the stairs in Piazza di Spagna you’ll find the Fontana della Barcaccia, built by Bernini the elder together with his son Gian Lorenzo. The square also hosts the museum dedicated to English poets John Keats and Percy Shelley.

The stairway and its 138 steps were built between 1723 and 1725, thanks to funding from a French diplomat, and were designed to link the square to the Church of Trinità dei Monti at the top. The square has also hosted a characteristic nativity scene every Christmas since the 19th century.

The Guest House Piazza di Spagna View is located at number 20, Piazza di Spagna, and offers a breath-taking view over the square. Close to our Guest House you’ll find the Metro-A line “Spagna” stop, only three stops from Saint Peter’s and the Vatican Museums. Termini rail station is three stops in the other direction. From here, we recommend guests visit Frascati and Ariccia to taste the typical dishes and wines of the Roman Castles area.

The elegant boutiques of Via del Corso, Via dei Condotti and Via Borgognona, or the Trevi Fountain and Via Veneto, are only a few minutes away on foot.
